Much Ado About My Wedding (A Review of the event and suppliers)

First of all, I just want to make it clear that I’m not really a fan of weddings, especially church weddings. Ugh! I believe it is an enormous waste of time and money…so much ado for a one-day event that everybody would soon forget. So any negative remarks I say might just be a product of my aversion to such unnecessary extravaganza and not an objective opinion. I leave it up to you to decide which is which. But then again, it is my wedding so I think I have every right to be subjective, don’t you think?

Anyway… so I reluctantly agreed to a church wedding. Yes, the girl who never dreamt or believed in marriage is now a married woman and was married in a church to boot! So what made me agree to it? Well, as I have told my friends when they wondered and asked, I guess when you love someone you learn to compromise to make them happy. It just so happens that the man I love is a church-goer and it was important for him to tie the knot at the altar.  So, I thought, “what the heck?!”, just get on with it!

But since I’m not really big on weddings or any extravagant event that comes out of my pocket (or in this case the pocket of my future husband, which means mine as well. Hehe…), we agreed to make the wedding as small and as economical as possible. So, we chose small packages from suppliers with very reasonable prices.

That being said, let me get to my review of the event and the suppliers. Event and suppliers go hand in hand. The success of the event depends largely on how good the suppliers are. And of course, it would also depend on how the host, or in this case the bride, would take and handle it.  In my case, I did not go ballistic on my suppliers’ shortcomings. At least not on the day itself. I just grinned and bear it. After all, releasing rage or tantrums at that point would do no good. It may come as as surprise to some people but no, I wasn’t a bridezilla at my wedding.

To the people who attended my wedding, it might have looked okay and “pwede na”. They might have even thought it was really great and fun. And I guess, yeah…it was acceptable. However, I am still obliged to point out and detail the good and the bad for the sake of providing reference or pointers to my dear readers. I will break down my review in several posts per supplier, so I would not bore you and you may jump to the suppliers that you are interested in.
