Five Tricks for Applying Eyeliner

Okay, so I haven't delivered my other wedding suppliers review. Break muna from that. I saw this interesting article that would surely beautify our eyes ;) So, share ko muna ito...

Found this on Yahoo - Five Tricks for Applying Eyeliner

Here's a summary:

1. Prep the eyes daw muna with matte flesh-tone eye shadow on the base of the lid.

2. When applying the eyeliner, start daw with the outer corner of the eye papunta sa ilong. Mali pala ang gawain ko. I always start inside palabas.

3. Always smudge daw. Ikalat nang maayos. Contradicting no? Ikalat pero maayos. Hehe... You can use a small pointed brush for this.

4.  And to make it last, apply ka ng eye shadow powder on top.

5. Fix any kalat with a Q-tip foundation.

Looks simple no?   Read the full article in Yahoo for details. Try ko muna ito... :)

Flowers & Pots by Viera – A Neophyte that has a lot to learn

(A Bridal Florist Review)

I am a believer of giving chances to small and budding businesses and since we are opting for less expensive suppliers, I took a chance at this florist who was recommended by the church  Flowers & Pots by Viera, headed by Corie de Mesa.

The church (San Antonio de Padua Parish, Pooc, Silang, Cavite) staff said that she’s a regular florist at the church and I considered that a plus since she would know her way around. Also, I didn’t want to get florist from out of town to avoid the extra charge. Corie’s church and entourage package was reasonably priced, cheaper than the packages you would usually see at bridal expos. So I thought she was the best choice.

Alexyz Arcilla – A One-Man-Show Absolute Performer

(On-the-Day Coordinator/Emcee/Wedding Singer Review)

As I have previously mentioned, we were gunning for the smallest cost possible for our wedding. So, we didn’t hire a whole group of On-the-Day (OTD) coordinators to run the wedding and the reception program. We hired a one-man-show OTD Coordinator/Emcess/Wedding Singer/Choir/Lector all rolled into one. His name is Alexyz Arcilla.

Mel Cruz and Her Magic

(A Bridal Hair and Make Up (HMU) Review)

I believe that the first and most important thing at a wedding is the bride’s look. After all, everyone would be looking at her. If she’s not confident about the way she looks, it would affect her mood and the entire party. As I have posted on my Facebook page, “the best and most important thing on a wedding day is to make the bride look and feel beautiful. Everything else will just follow.”

I guess I was able to let the mishaps of my other suppliers slide because I was feeling great about myself. Happy and confident with my look and all. And I have my HMU artist MEL CRUZ to thank for this. She and her hair specialist did a great job on me on my big day. I just told them the look I was going for and they delivered.

I was hoping for a Greek Goddess look to match my Venus-cut Grecian style wedding gown. Here’s my final look along with the before and after photo. You be the judge.

Much Ado About My Wedding (A Review of the event and suppliers)

First of all, I just want to make it clear that I’m not really a fan of weddings, especially church weddings. Ugh! I believe it is an enormous waste of time and money…so much ado for a one-day event that everybody would soon forget. So any negative remarks I say might just be a product of my aversion to such unnecessary extravaganza and not an objective opinion. I leave it up to you to decide which is which. But then again, it is my wedding so I think I have every right to be subjective, don’t you think?

Hello, BFFs!

I know matagal-tagal na rin na since my last share of anything nice that beautifies. I've been held up by different factors and circumstances that comes with life. It's no excuse, I know, but will it help if I say that one of those circumstances involved a wedding? :D

Yes, my wedding and I will come back on this site with reviews of my wedding suppliers. It was intentional that I didn't post a blow-by-blow account of my wedding preps. Not even the engagement. I kept mum about my wedding for several reasons. One, ayaw ko ma-jinx yung wedding. Two, konti lang invited. We wanted it to be as small as possible with only close relatives and very close friends. And three, para pwede pang mag-ala runaway bride. Hehe...kidding!

Anyhoo, I would be sharing with you the details of my wedding. I'm hoping to provide some tips and advice on wedding preps and avoid the mistakes I did. You will hear it all soon!

3 Shopping Lessons on Scoring Great Finds

I am a fan of nice and trendy clothes pero hindi ako mahilig gumastos. I always wait for "The Sale". Minsan, kahit na gustung-gusto ko na ang isang bagay, I'll still wait for it to be on sale. Mahilig din ako sa tiyangge. Hindi ako brand conscious. Basta bagay sa'kin, GO! It's all in your projection and confidence, dear. ;)

Sayang eh. It's like serendipity. I'll justify it by saying, "it found me...it's destiny!" Hahaha! Hehe...

Like today, I saw this pretty little white dress at Ensembles. Sobrang marked down price. Here's the dress:

What? Crunches don't work???

Found this article on Yahoo! that says crunches do nothing to achieve a toned abs. Huwat???

I'm sure most of you ay katulad ko ng akala na it's the best way to contour the tummy area. Hindi pala? More importantly, it's bad for the spinal discs pala because of the strain it puts on the back. Push up daw is a better way because it works the whole body, including arms and legs, without straining the back.

For more info and reasons why crunching is not good for you, click here.

What My Home-based Job does to me…

(Old post from HeBlogs-SheBlogs but appropriate for BFF)

No, I'm not a model.  And no, I'm not going to any party.  I'm all dolled up because of my work.  Not because I'm attending a meeting or a conference or any of the sort.  My job is home-based and my office is in my bedroom.  Now, don't go gaga and assume that I'm doing something indecent, immoral or illegal. You know what I'm talking about.  NO, that's NOT what I do for a living!

Planner Crazy

Yikes! It has been what? Three months already since my last post??? Wow, sobrang tagal na nun ah.  Promise, I planned to post something before Christmas. I actually had written something on some scratch paper. Pero sabi ko, I had to take pictures pa muna of each corner para ma-include ko sa blog post. Pero hindi ko pa tapos ang decorations so I kept putting it off hanggang sa mawala na sa plano. Argh!!! Then came Christmas, then New Year, then Chinese New Year! At natapos na rin ang Valentine's Day na wala man lang akong nai-share na kahit ano!  Wala akong kwentang BFF....huhuhu...

Pero in my defense naman, marami rin kasing mga kaganapan sa buhay ko pagpasok pa lang ng taon. And nabanggit ko un sa Mother Blog kong SheBlogger's NeverWonderLand. Anyway, eto na ulit ako para maghatid ng mga nice things in life.  Since I failed miserably in my blog planning, there is no better way than to start with a post that has something about planning.
